OUR STORY
Medina Creative Housing (MCH) was formed by a group of concerned parents looking for a brighter future for their children with disabilities. In 1992, they launched a 501 (c)(3) non-profit corporation that would enable Medina County residents with disabilities to live the American Dream - to live independently in a home of their own designed to meet their special needs.
Today, Medina Creative Housing has developed nationally recognized housing and services for hundreds of individuals with disabilities. MCH continues to build on its innovations and initiatives by creating housing, services, and employment opportunities that have been traditionally closed to people with disabilities and the low income, underserved population in Medina County.
Medina Creative Housing has four affiliate organizations: Medina Creative Accessibility, Medina Creative Living, Inc., Medina Creative Living II and Medina Creative Living III. These organizations provide supportive services and supportive housing to individuals with disabilities.
Medina Creative Housing owns and manages fourteen single family homes in the community in which individuals with disabilities live in a congregate setting. MCH has been awarded three Housing and Urban Development (HUD) Supportive Living for Individuals with Disabilities grants, building twenty-eight subsidized single and double garden-style apartment units with community rooms. In addition, we have six units that have been funded by the Ohio Housing Finance Agency. Medina Creative Housing and its affiliate organizations provide an array of services including: life skills training, vocational training and employment opportunities for students and adults with disabilities, therapeutic horseback riding and HIPPO therapy and a resident enrichment program.
Our programs continue to grow and we are available to assist other organizations in program development through partnerships and consulting.
