Medina Creative Accessibility offers a “Life Steps” Program which consists of an 9 week Life Skills Training, Summer Day Camp, Alternative Latchkey After School Programs, and Holiday Camps at Christmas and Easter breaks. The Life Steps Program is designed to meet the needs of cognitively and functionally disabled children and adults and to provide respite for caregivers. It consists of structured, comprehensive, and continually supervised educational and social activities that emphasize client choice and are intended to meet the individual needs of the persons served.
Purpose - To help children and adults with cognitive and functional disabilities stabilize, increase and/or sustain their highest level of functioning so that they can maintain the skills needed to live independently as possible at home and in the community.
Outcome - To help individuals reach their goal of independent living with support in a community setting.
Educational and social activities include:
• Homework assistance
• Social skills
• Group activities such as arts, crafts and games
• Meal planning and preparation
• Maintaining home, cleaning and lawn care
• Safety
• Money skills
• Community field trips
• Transportation
“Life Steps” Program has multiple funding sources including waiver options, supportive living, family resource, extended school year, scholarships and private pay.
Life Steps Spring Camp offers learning experiences for adults and children with developmental disabilities. Camp runs Monday April 2nd through Friday April 6th from 8:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. each day.

Deadline for application for Life Steps Summer Camp is May 4, 2012.
• The cost of camp is $250.00 per week. Family rates are offered for $200.00 per week, per family member.
• Level One and IO Waiver, Supportive Living, Extended School Year and Family Support Service Programs and other funding resources are available to cover the cost of camp. Check with your Case Manager at the Medina County Board of DD to see if you qualify.
• A limited number of camperships are also available to help defray the cost of attending our camp.
