SPOTLIGHT: VOLUNTEER OF THE YEAR

Medina Creative Housing’s (MCH) Volunteer of the Year Award is given once a year to a friend of MCH who goes above and beyond sharing their time, talent and treasures to ensure that MCH continues to expand its programs and provides opportunities for individuals with disabilities.

Elaine Orlandi is the 2013 Volunteer of the Year recognized for her tremendous commitment to our organization and the individuals with disabilities we serve. In the past year, Elaine spearheaded the Keller Williams Christmas Bazaar and Cookie Walk, which raised $3,500 for Medina Creative Therapy Ranch and was a significant leader in the Keller Williams Golf Outing which also partially benefitted MCH.  Elaine was quick to catch the vision for the new “Medina Creative Therapy Ranch” Therapeutic Horseback Riding Program being developed by Medina Creative Housing and the importance of adding a therapeutic component to the “Life Steps” Life Skills Training Summer Day Camp.  Elaine was instrumental  in finding a builder who would donate labor to build the barn and arena the value of which served as grant match funds allowing us to secure a $200,000 Grant to fund the building of Medina Creative Therapy Ranch.

Elaine has also volunteered numerous hours to MCH’s agency, she has donated her time serving on MCH’s “Raising the Roof” Dinner & Entertainment Charity Benefit Fundraising Committee for several years, she donates her timeshare in Siesta Key, Florida every year for  ‘Raising the Roof’ fundraiser, she beautifies MCH properties each year with the donation of annual flowers and so, so much more.

We can't thank Elaine enough for what she has done and meant to Medina Creative Housing and to the individuals that we serve. We are so grateful for her dedicated support.
