A Note About The Ride:

We don’t usually post our ride in advance but some folks are excited to learn about the route and length, so this will set your anticipation for a great ride. We start the ride heading to the National Cemetery in Rittman. It is important to honor those that have given so much for the freedom we have and the independence it provides to us. As we think about creating independence for individuals with disabilities, let’s reflect on the important sacrifice that creates the foundation for all we enjoy. Then we will take a meandering ride through beautiful Medina County. We will enjoy the farmland and country air. We may dip into Cuyahoga County and breathe the oxygen rich air in part of our Emerald necklace park system. We plan a stop to refresh your palate with some of the sweetest and creamiest ice cream you have ever tasted and we will finish the ride at a Medina Creative Housing property for a picnic and the Independence Walk. You will see and learn some new things and be refreshed at each stop with volunteers happy to see you. They will get you a cool drink and something tasty to munch. The ride will be about 80 – 100 miles. (The ride team makes some adjustments during the last week based on construction and detours, doing our best to avoid gravel and fresh tar).

12th Annual Independence Walk

Begins at the end of the 7th Annual Ride at our Medina Creative Living site at 1120 N. Huntington Street, Medina. This event is FREE and we invite and encourage all community members to join us in celebration of the Independence of the individuals we serve. The one-mile round-trip parade/walk between our apartments on North Huntington Street and Creative Living Way is open to all, including pets! After our walk, we will eat, socialize, play games, and enjoy music! And, of course, the announcement of our Winning Poker Run Hands!
