Medina Creative Housing Celebrates Independence, Showcases Eight New Apartment Units

People In Front Of The House — Medina, OH — Medina Creative Housing

On the eve of July 4, Medina Creative Housing held its ninth annual Independence Walk and Party, with the added attraction of a ribbon-cutting ceremony at 4125 and 4135 Creative Living Way — recently completed independent living units for eight new residents who have disabilities.

A small river of supporters wearing red T-shirts followed Hope, a Shetland pony pulling a cart carrying Sharon Biggins, director of the Creative Therapy Ranch, along Huntington Street. At 6 p.m., the group left Creative Living Complex I and II at 1120 N. Huntington St. to walk slowly through the hot, humid air to Creative Living Complex III and IV at 4100 Creative Living Way.

When all had arrived, Army Sgt. First Class Stephen Calahan and Veteran David Lariviere raised the American Flag, then led the recitation of the Pledge of Allegiance.

After brief statements by Medina Creative Housing CEO Dianne DePasquale-Hagerty, Board President David Betsill, State Sen. Larry Obhoff (R-22), State Rep. Stephen Hambley (R-69) and other dignitaries, they and the eight new residents cut a wide, red ribbon to denote the official opening.
